Bharti Enterprises is well on its way to set up things to start operations by August 15, 2007 and has started looking for property across the country. At the World Economic Forum, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman and managing director of the Bharti Group, said `Our desire is to start the retail trade and cash-and-carry business by August 15, but it will definitely be done before the end of this year.` Bharti Enterprises will be setting up a retail chain under a franchise agreement with Wal-Mart. It will also be setting up a cash-and-carry business with Wal-Mart it has set up a new equal partnership company has been formed, which will take care of transportation, cold chain and back end work.
