Reliance Retail launched nine stores under the Reliance Fresh format in the national Capital region on Tuesday. The stores are located in Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad. A store in the Capital was expected soon. These stores will take the count of the Reliance stores up to 49. Reliance Retail already has stores in the Reliance Fresh format in Hyderabad, Jaipur and Chennai. “The retail venture entails an investment of Rs 25,000 crore and we have by now spent about Rs 3,000 crore,” said Raghu Pillai, CEO operations and strategy, Reliance Retail during an interview with a leading financial daily. Replying to queries, the Reliance Retail CEO foods business Guninder Kapur said that the retail venture in no way was going to harm the mom and pop stores.
